The Livingston Parish Library’s Main Branch Music Club meets from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.

Adult musicians looking for others to play with or who want to try out an instrument are welcome. Participants will work together to learn one song a month.

Bring your own instruments, or play the library’s on-hand guitar, bass, ukulele, accordion or drum set.

Public book sale

Don’t forget — the Friends of the Livingston Library System’s public book sale gets underway at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Denham Springs-Walker Branch and wraps up at 2 p.m.

Sewing basics

Adults can learn the basics of sewing with instructor Vicky Reynolds from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the South Branch of the Livingston Parish Library.

Participants will learn how to make a tote bag, but must bring their own machine, scissors, seam gauge, pins and thread.

It’s finally October 2015 — time for a “Back to the Future” celebration with activities for all ages from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Watson Branch of the Livingston Parish Library.
