Tickets are available for the annual Chillin’ with the Chamber and $10,000 raffle, set for 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 14 behind the Greater Hammond Chamber of Commerce offices.

The event is presented by the chamber and Cypress Pointe Surgical Hospital.

Other raffle prizes include jewelry from George Ibert and a barbecue grill from Reeve’s True Value. Raffle tickets are $100 and provide admittance for two into the event.

This year’s theme, “Peace, Love and Chamber,” is in recognition of the chamber’s 65th anniversary. Attendees should wear ’60s attire. Rock-It Productions will provide live entertainment. Food will be by Buddies Bar and Grill, with beverages from Champagne Beverage and Jim Carey Distribution.

Tickets can be purchased at or at the following Hammond area outlets: Tope La Catering, 113 E. Thomas St.; Louisiana Federal Credit Union, 42162 Veterans Ave.; Hammond Regional Arts Center, 217 E. Thomas St.; 5 Stones Media, 111 W. Charles St.; Petro Truck Stop, 2100 S.W. Railroad Ave.; and Gardner Realtors, 42402 S. Morrison Blvd.

Since the 1990s, Chillin’ with the Chamber has provided the funding for beautification, maintenance and paying the note on the train depot that houses the chamber offices.

Daryl Ferrara, co-chairman of the Non Dues Revenue Committee, said he is anticipating a greater attendance than last year’s record-breaking turnout.

“Last year we sold over 300 tickets and had more than 200 people come out to Chillin’ with the Chamber,” he said. “This year, we are looking to top those numbers.”
