Susan Lynch, of Denham Springs, has been named the 2015-16 Livingston Parish Students Against Destructive Decisions Student of the Year.
She will be the teen spokesperson for the organization and will represent her peers on Livingston Parish SADD’s board of directors, a news release said.
“Susan was chosen for her dedication and commitment to the SADD mission. She focuses on what is best for every campaign/event, and she’s an enthusiastic worker,” said Elise LeBlanc, executive director of Livingston Parish SADD.
Lynch is a senior at Denham Springs High School, where she is the vice president of her SADD chapter and the Anchor Club secretary.
“I never imagined what an impact this organization would make on my life. I wouldn’t be where I am today without SADD. It’s a major part of who I am and what I stand for,” Lynch said.
As Student of the Year, Lynch will promote SADD’s mission at parish, community and school events. In October, she will facilitate SADD training for teens throughout the parish. She will lead SADD’s ambassador program and represent the youth of Livingston Parish on the Livingston Youth and Family Together community task force.
