Holy Ghost Catholic School in Hammond recently recognized the recipients of the Brotherhood/Sisterhood Awards and Students of the Year with their families in attendance during National Catholic Schools Week, celebrated Jan. 31-Feb. 6.

Gabe Hester and Juliette LeRay received the Brotherhood/Sisterhood Awards. The awards, voted on by eighth-grade peers, recognize a boy and a girl who exemplify the traits of a Christian student, a news release said.

Hester’s parents are David and Gaye Hester and LeRay’s parents are Scott and Jenny LeRay.

Olivia Brouillette and Amelia Pham were named Students of the Year. Both girls are in the academically accelerated program and have earned all As since the first grade, as well as the highest standardized test scores over the past three years.

Brouillette is a fifth-grader and participates in recreational softball, the school basketball team, drama club and as an altar server. Her parents are Stephen and Tessa Brouillette.

Pham is an eighth-grader and a member of the National Junior Honor Society, Quiz Bowl and choir. Her parents are Thuy Pham and Doan Tran.
