The Advanced Placement world history class at Live Oak High School in Watson stepped back in time on Oct. 28.

Class members dressed as historical figures from anywhere other than the West or the United States. The students also had to present as if they were the historical figure giving an autobiography.

Girls’ costumes ranged from Queen Elizabeth to Cleopatra to Catherine the Great, while boys’ costumes ranged from Octavius to William Wallace to Jesus of Nazareth.

Teacher Gary Mitchell dressed up as Jesus of Nazareth and gave a presentation.

The project helped students place themselves in a variety of eras and locations and allowed them to experience and understand a variety of cultures, a news release said.
