Bring tax documents such as W-2s, 1099s and information for deductions and credits along with a copy of last year’s tax return and a Social Security card for yourself, a spouse and dependents. You also may bring proof of a bank account for direct deposit. Volunteers will prepare most simple returns.

Movie night

The Watson Branch of the Livingston Parish Library will host an interactive movie adventure featuring “The Princess Bride” at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Ages 12 to 18 will receive props and instructions, enjoy refreshments and have the opportunity to create a movie character using Perler beads.

Author meet and greet

Barbara Barnes Sims, author of “The Next Elvis: Searching for Stardom at Sun Records,” is the guest at a meet and greet at 6 p.m. Monday at the Denham Springs-Walker Branch of Livingston Parish Library.

Sims will discuss her experiences working for Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee, famous for stars like Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Charlie Rich, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley. Light refreshments will be served.

Paddington’s magic show

Paddington Bear is the star of an interactive puppet show and storytime for children through age 11 at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the South Branch of Livingston Parish Library. The Denham Springs-Walker Branch of Livingston Parish Library is offering a “Genealogy 102: Internet Research” workshop from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday. Learn about vital genealogy sites, including free resources offered by the Livingston Parish Library such as Ancestry Library Edition, and get tips about how to search for your ancestors. Benefit set for March 12

The Power of Hope Banquet 2016, benefiting A Door of Hope Ministries, will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 12 at 30372 Eden Church Road, Denham Springs.

The evening includes dinner by Courtlands Catering, a silent auction including an autographed, signed book by actor Stephen Baldwin, testimonies from A Door of Hope graduates and special guests.

Featured speaker is Carol Everett, who was involved in the operation of abortion clinics from 1977 to 1983 until coming to know Jesus Christ as her savior, a news release said. She works to safeguard the health of women and their babies and speaks to men and women who have experienced a pregnancy loss.
