The Tangipahoa Volunteers for Family and Community Busy Bees recently visited North Tangi Head Start in Roseland to present “Rusty the Respectful Racoon,” the first story in the “Character Critters” series.

The Bees, an all-volunteer arm of the LSU Extension Service, also presented each student with their own copy of the book.

The “Character Critters” series, originally began by the Josephite Institute, teaches good character and is composed of six ethical values or characters: caring, citizenship, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility and fairness.
