Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa, in partnership with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office will offer a Community Neighborhood Watch Training and Informational Session at 5 p.m. Aug. 5 at the new Tangipahoa Parish Government Permit and Planning Office behind the Health Unit at 15485 W. Club Deluxe Road, Hammond.
The workshop is free and open to the public.
Presenters of the program will be Jodie Rohner, the CEO and executive director of Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa; Dy. Elodia Blanco, the Neighborhood Watch director of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office; and others, a news release from Crime Stoppers said.
Topics will include “How to Start Your Own Neighborhood Watch Group,” “How to Maintain the Effectiveness of Your Existing Neighborhood Watch Group,” “Police and Community Partnerships” and “Crime Stoppers 101.” There will be law enforcement on site for the workshop and a question-and-answer session after each topic presentation.
Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa would welcome and encourage community members who are interested in Neighborhood Watch, are a part of an existing Neighborhood Watch group or are simply concerned about general community safety to attend.
