Nickson Elidor, a Spanish teacher at Hammond Eastside Elementary Montessori, is taking advantage of the iPad Tech Tubs available through the Tangipahoa Parish School System’s Technology Department.

TechTubs are a locked rolling cart with five iPads and a charging unit, a news release from the school said. TechTubs were purchased with Title 1 funds and are designed to help integrate technology into classroom activities, the release said.

Teachers can check-out the Tech Tubs through the department to integrate iPad technology into their lessons. Elidor’s seventh-grade students are using an app called Qué Onda to identify family members in Spanish and to practice spelling vocabulary words and expressions.
