Hammond Art Guild’s annual show and sale, “A Piece of Louisiana,” hosted by the Tangipahoa Convention and Visitors Center, takes place throughout September.

Residents are invited to the show’s opening reception that starts at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Visitors Center, 13143 Wardline Road, Hammond, at the University/Wardline Road exit off Interstate 55.

The art guild is represented by 18 local award-winning artists displaying over 200 pieces of art in almost every medium, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, Louisiana coffee, pen and ink, photography, mixed media, hand-built and wheel-thrown pottery, carved and etched wood, hand-woven basketry, custom jewelry, fused and stain glass, and more.

The artwork is available for sale all month, seven days a week, during the Visitors Center’s regular hours, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Exhibiting artists include Martha Alexander, Theresa Beaubouef, Tootie Calmes, Francine Champagne, Shanna D’Antonio, Janet Davis, Jim Davis, Roland Guidry, C.B. Hume, Jerry Hymel, Ginger Rhodes Kraemer, Nancy Lowentritt, Anna Rita Miller, Gisela Niedenfuer, Elizabeth Partridge, Sylvia Rochester, Mary D. Smith and Sherri White.
