The 2013-14 Louisiana Green Schools Challenge honoree in the Elementary Division from Livingston Parish is North Live Oak Elementary in Watson, which took second place.

The middle school honoree from Tangipahoa Parish is Hammond Junior High School, also second place.

USGBC Louisiana challenges schools across the state to green their facilities. By getting students involved in sustainable projects, schools can lower operating costs and improve indoor learning spaces while empowering teachers and youths and their community forever.

Second-place schools receive $1,000 and a trophy.
