Livingston Youth and Family Counseling will host an Evening in the Park from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Tony Dugas Recreation Center, 30372 Eden Church Road, Denham Springs.

The center will be transformed into a park with trees, park benches and stars, a news release from LYFC said. The evening will begin with a buffet dinner, followed by dancing to the sounds of the 15-member band Big River Express.

Silent auction items from local and national vendors, including theme parks, jewelers, restaurants and artisans, will be displayed for viewing and bidding. A raffle will be drawn at the event. One $20 raffle ticket buys participants a chance to win a set of four LSU 2014 football season tickets. Entrants do need not be present to win.

LYFC is an organization dedicated to helping adults and children struggling with emotional and mental health issues, and has been serving Livingston Parish for more than 30 years. As a nonprofit organization, LYFC relies on fundraisers, grants and donations to provide affordable, professional mental health counseling, the news release said.

Evening in the Park tickets are $50 each and tables of eight can be reserved for $400. To learn about this fundraiser or purchase tickets, call Li Soileau at (225) 665-7242 or email info@LYF
