Mayors in the parish will address the Livingston Chamber of Commerce at the Chamber’s monthly meeting starting at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The event will be at Forrest Grove Plantation, 8743 Stephenson Drive, Denham Springs.

Attendance will cost $20 and will include breakfast, Chamber officials said. The deadline to RSVP is noon Monday.

July Fourth

The City of Walker, Town of Livingston and the Livingston Parish Veterans Association will present an old-fashioned family day celebration Friday at Sidney Hutchinson Park, 13750 Ball Park Road, Walker.

The event begins at 9 a.m. with the 16 and under girls fast pitch game. Food, rides, inflatable bouncers, water slides, snowballs and more will start at noon. Old-fashioned races, including home run derby, baseball speed throw, volleyball, horseshoes, tug of war, sack races, wheelbarrow races and three-legged races will start at 3 p.m. A dedication ceremony will start at 5 p.m. Walker Parks “Challenger Division” game will begin at 6 p.m. Entertainment will start at 7:30 p.m., and the fireworks display will start at 9 a.m. Residents are asked to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets, sunscreen and bug spray.

Art collage

The Arts Council of Livingston Parish Art Exhibit will present “An Eclectic Art Collage” exhibit in July. The exhibit will include fiber art, jewelry and children’s summer camp creations, Arts Council official said.

The public is invited to attend a reception to meet the artists from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 12.

During the reception, fiber artists will be working on various techniques — fabric collages, beading on wet felted vessels and mark-making on fabric. The exhibit and reception will be at the Arts Council Gallery located inside the Arts Council of Livingston Parish,133 North Hummell St., Denham Springs. Dinner theatre

The Livingston Parish Children’s Choir will present its Ninth annual Dinner Theatre July 24-25. All performances start at 7 p.m.

Food will be prepared by chef Dawn Rush; big band music will be performed by Robert Reynolds and his 10-piece band; and “A Pretty Handsome Tale,” a one-act play written by Dinah Toups spoofing 1950’s radio programs, will be performed.
