Child Advocacy Services in Livingston, Tangipahoa and St. Helena parishes and the Court Appointed Special Advocates program need volunteers to be the voice for children in the community who have been victims of abuse and neglect, a news release from CAS said.
CASA is the only volunteer program that empowers everyday citizens as officers of the court, the release said. CASA is the difference for thousands of innocent children who enter the overburdened social services system each year.
Currently, more than 100 children in this area are waiting for a CASA volunteer. The next volunteer training will start in February.
