The Greater Hammond Chamber of Commerce held its annual Installation and Awards Banquet on Jan. 28, where it celebrated its 2015 accomplishments and welcomed its new board.

Brian Shirey, marketing manager for Northshore Broadcasting, took over as board chairman from Erin Cowser, executive director of public and governmental affairs for Southeastern Louisiana University.

Shirey said his two main goals for the year are to increase value to chamber members and encourage members to be more active.

BUSINESS MEMBER OF THE YEAR: Cypress Pointe Surgical Hospital.

FRANCES CHAUVIN VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD: Bernadette Kemp, of First Guaranty Bank.

AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR: Barbara Lessard, of It Works!

BOARD MEMBER OF THE YEAR: Governmental Affairs Committee Co-Chair Elsbet Smith Hollywood, of Seale and Ross.

2016 PREMIER LEVEL MEMBERS: Cypress Pointe Surgical Hospital, Emery and James Ltd., First Guaranty Bank, Hammond Square/Stirling Properties, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Northshore, La Capitol Federal Credit Union, Louisiana Federal Credit Union, North Oaks Health System, Northshore Broadcasting, Post Acute Specialty Hospital of Hammond, Regions Bank, Southeastern Louisiana University, Tangipahoa Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau, Whitney Bank and Worley Claims Services.
