Denham Springs Councilwoman Cindy Wale pledged to make safer roads a priority if she is re-elected to the Livingston Parish Council, according to a news release formally announcing her candidacy for the District 3 seat.
Wale pointed to the more than $1 million she helped the parish secure for improvements to Eden Church Road in northern Denham Springs as an example of the sort of improvements she favors.
She worked on the Bass Pro project before being elected and pushed for the Juban Crossing project after taking her seat on the council.
In her next term, Wale hopes to establish litter control and animal-control programs, according to the release.
Wale is a critic of government waste.
“I’ve seen too much waste in government during my time here, and I have worked to stop this whenever I can,” she said.
Wale is a board member of the Livingston Parish Economic Development Council and the Denham Springs Chamber of Commerce. She is also on the Executive Committee of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber.
Wale and her husband Jeffrey have two children.
