  • LIVINGSTON PARISH BOOK FESTIVAL (CLOSURE — ONLY MAIN BRANCH OPEN): All Livingston Parish library branches will be closed except for the Main Branch, which will be hosting the Livingston Parish Book Festival. Regular operating hours will resume on Sunday, at the Denham Springs-Walker branch and Monday at all other branches.
  • LIVINGSTON PARISH BOOK FESTIVAL (ALL AGES): 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Livingston Parish Library Main Branch. Many activities, games and refreshments will be available throughout the day. A bouncy house and face painting will be available.

  • GRAND COUNTRY JUNCTION: All day, Suma Crossing Theatre, North of Interstate 12 at Exit 19, Satsuma.
  • POUND THE PAVEMENT FOR PILOT : 8 a.m., Kids Korner Playground, 979 Government St., Denham Springs. The event will feature a 5K and one mile run. Race day registration starts at 7 a.m. Register at cajuntiming.com.
  • LIGO FREE TOURS: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., 19100 Ligo Lane, Livingston. Participants will learn about gravitational waves and experience science exhibits. Group tours, a presentation, and Einstein’s Messengers will also be offered. The event is free.
  • STARS & TWINKLES FALL FAIR: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Denham Springs Freshman High, 940 N Range Ave, Denham Springs. Vendors will have crafts, jewelry, food, games, fun jumps, and lots of activities. Raffles for an XBox and a jambalaya pot with cooking tools will be held, with winners announced at the fair. The event will raise funds for activities and supplies for the students with significant disabilities/autism in the Stars and Twinkles social-community groups.
