The Livingston Parish Human Services Coalition will meet from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. June 30 at the Livingston Parish Health Unit, 20399 Government Blvd., in Livingston.

The guest speaker will be Christine Roy with Child Advocacy Services, who will present information about forensic interviews and help residents understand the work CAC performs for Livingston Parish children.

In July, LPHSC will host free suicide prevention training.

Women’s support group

The Women’s Resource Clinic, 12201 Florida Blvd., Livingston, is offering a “Women of Grace” support group for women suffering from addictions, depression and abuse from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday. The support group features an open forum for sharing and discussion, and an opportunity to visit the Hope Closet and receive Hope Closet Shopping Bucks. Snacks will be provided. DIY wool series

The Denham Springs-Walker Library wraps up its DIY wool series for ages 18 and up with a class about knitting and crocheting at 10 a.m. Thursday. Participants will receive instructions on how to crochet or knit. Participants are asked to bring size eight knitting needles or size H crochet hook and yarn. Registration is required. Self-defense

Premier Fitness will host a free women’s self defense class at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The class is open to the community, and women must be 13 years or older. Premier Fitness is located at 35055 La. 16, Suite 2F, in Denham Springs.
