Holy Ghost Catholic School in Hammond held its annual Student Council election on Sept. 9.

Students in fifth through eighth grade voted for representatives in their respective grade levels, as well as student body officers. Before voting, the students were told about the importance of voting, a news release said.

Bill Shifter and Glynn Cacioppo, of the Tangipahoa Warehouse and Secretary of State Department of Elections, and Phyllis Harrison, of the Tangipahoa Parish Clerk of Court’s Office, helped students take turns casting their ballots using voting machines.
