Fifty-eight Live Oak High School students and Watson-area residents participated in the Louisiana Marathon held earlier this month in Baton Rouge.

Members of Live Oak High School’s cross-country were joined by parents and other residents for the annual run through downtown Baton Rouge.

Live Oak cross country-coach Bobbi Jo Guerin said the number of area runners taking part in the event from her area has more than tripled in the last few years. Guerin credited friend and Live Oak staff member Angela Wiedeman with helping her grow the participation.

Guerin said she also organizes a group of community runners. For information on that running group, email bjguerin65@gmail.com.
