New Livingston Parish Council members hoping to build positive working relationship with parish administration _lowres

Maurice 'Scooter' Keen

Denham Springs business owner Maurice “Scooter” Keen pledges “fresh ideas and positive solutions” if elected to the Livingston Parish Council District 3 seat.

Keen, 50, a Republican, said he’s seen many changes in the parish since opening a business in Denham Springs in 1995.

“I understand the importance of small business to our local economy, the good-paying jobs they create and why it is critical that local government do everything it can to help them succeed,” he said.

Keen said he wants to stress unity on the Parish Council and work to “help business thrive.”

“I have always been very concerned about what is best for the parish,” he said.

Keen said he believes there are workable solutions available that will enhance the community.

“Our parish is making great strides and expanding rapidly. I would like to see the council become a unified body that can make the kind of choices that are best for the parish overall,” Keen added.
