Seventh Ward Elementary School in Denham Springs held its annual Fall Family Jamboree, sponsored by the Seventh Ward Parent Teacher Organization, on Oct. 20.

Students and families participated in family-friendly activities and learned about important topics that affect the school community.

Scott Fence cooked and donated close to 200 jambalaya dinners that were sold for $6 per plate to help raise money for the school. Families donated items, and volunteers collected and assembled six themed baskets that were raffled off as a fundraiser.

Children were invited to wear their Halloween costumes and, after dinner, gathered in classrooms to participate in activities while parents attended a presentation on school safety and security presented by Lt. Patrick Knab, of the Denham Springs Police Department.
