The Livingston Parish Human Services Coalition will host a meeting starting at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Livingston Parish Health Unit, 20399 Government Blvd., Livingston.

The guest speaker will be Livingston Parish Assessor Jeff Taylor, who will speak about Assess the Need, a parishwide school-supply drive sponsored by Taylor in partnership with area businesses and media outlets.

Live Oak 5K and Fun Run

The Live Oak High School fourth annual 5K and 1-mile Fun Run will be Saturday at the LOHS football field.

Stories on stage

Senior adults, 55 and older, will learn about theater and acting while helping to create and perform an original play at the Livingston Parish Library, 20390 Iowa St., Livingston. Participants will use their memories and experiences as inspiration. All levels of experience and physical ability are welcome.

The eight-week course begins at 10 a.m. Thursday. At the end of the series, cast members will perform the original play at the Livingston Parish Book Festival on Nov. 15.

Welcome Bob

LPB and Stine Home and Yard will welcome Bob the Builder from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Stine’s, 29200 Walker South Road, Walker.

The event will feature a meet-and-greet session, a Bob look-a-like contest, fun crafts and dirt-moving demonstrations from some of Bob’s friends, a news release from Stine’s said. The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Mobile Command, the DARE Unit and Mighty Moms also will attend. The first 100 children will receive a carpenter’s apron from LPB and Stine.

Craft fair

The Denham Springs Elementary Craft Fair will be Saturday at 306 N. Range Ave.

Proceeds will be used to purchase computers. There will be craft exhibits, a raffle, food and a silent auction.
