Holy Ghost Catholic School in Hammond held its annual eighth-grade awards breakfast on May 19.
Kylie Ruiz was selected Best All-Around Student for excelling academically while participating in extracurricular activities and demonstrating leadership, a news release said.
Mackie Sandage and Caroline Ingraffia received certificates for having A’s in every subject since first grade. Ingraffia also was the recipient of the Leadership Award for maintaining at least a 3.5 grade-point average while demonstrating leadership.
Service Awards, given to students who provide their time and energy to help teachers, administrators and others at the school, were presented to Ruiz, Sandage, Olivia Lowentritt, Caleb Governale, Justin Deliberto, Lily Inman, Katie Amos and Ashlyn Alack.
President’s Education Awards, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, are given by principals to students who have achieved high academic goals. The honorees were Amos, Ingraffia, Inman, Lowentritt, Ruiz, Sandage, Brock Barringer, Drew Barzenick, Albert Blanchard, Baylee Falcon, Bailey Fugarino, Sarah Labbe, Andrew Loyacano, Bryce Jones, Lyndsi Pierre, Blair Rodrigue and Kashish Wadhwa, Gold Award; and Maya Bachemin, Chloe Partridge, Rachel Schnadelbach and Chelsealyn Vallery, Silver Award.
