Business start-up seminar

A free seminar designed to help people interested in starting a business will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Tangipahoa Parish Library, 204 N.E. Central Ave., Amite.

The seminar is hosted by the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University, the Amite Chamber of Commerce and the Tangipahoa Parish Library.

Topics include writing a business plan, sources of funds for start-up and expansion, small business resources and required licenses.

‘Crazy Cat People’ Party

Cat lovers unite at the Denham Springs-Walker Branch of the Livingston Parish Library’s “Crazy Cat People” Party at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 29.

Wear your wackiest cat sweater and come make pins of your cats, watch cat videos, vote on the best cat photo and crazy cat story and play a cat trivia game.

Bring items for donation to a local shelter, including used toys, cat trees, half bags of food or litter, blankets, Purina food or Tidy Cats litter.
