North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond welcomed Toby Luke LeLeaux, born at 12:13 a.m. on Jan. 1, as its first baby of 2016.

He joins parents Tiffany Glaviana and Dustin LeLeaux, of Avondale, and brother Dustin Jr.

“He’s a blessing. It was a long day, but family and lots of coffee saw us through,” LeLeaux said of his newborn son.

Toby was due Dec. 30 but didn’t make his appearance until more than 26 hours after his mother arrived at the hospital, a news release said. Delivered by Dr. Deborah Shuman, of Magnolia Obstetrics & Gynecology, he weighed 8 pounds, 1.3 ounces and was 211/4 inches long.

“Toby just wanted all the attention,” Glaviana said. “We are definitely infatuated with him.”
