The Student Council at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School in Hammond is hosting a “No Shave November” and invites the community to participate.

All proceeds raised during November will be donated to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center to benefit prostate cancer research, a news release said.

For a $15 donation, students will be exempt from shaving or haircuts during November.

All students will pay $2 on Nov. 19 to wear light-blue clothing and accessories to support prostate cancer awareness. The day will wrap up with a faculty versus students basketball game.

Each participant will have a “before” photo taken and, at the end of the month, will be judged in such categories as scruffiest beard, best goatee, the Abe Lincoln and the Dwain Tycer.

Girls can make a $15 donation that allows them to wear colored socks during November.

“No one wants to see the girls not shave,” student body President Chloe Chauvin said.

Call Michelle Chauvin at (985) 542-7662 or email mchauvin@stafalcons.org to donate.
