The 10th annual Back-to-School Bash will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday in Zemurray Park in Hammond.
Organizer and Evangelist Carolyn Jackson expects about 5,000 children at this year’s event.
Organizers and volunteers will pass out free school backpacks and supplies to youths while supplies last.
Youths can ride the train in Zemurray Park and enjoy free meals and drinks provided by area businesses.
This year, Hammond Mayor Mayson Foster will attend at 6 p.m. At approximately 6:30 p.m., a computer will be given away, Jackson said.
Other community and business leaders also will attend.
Area businesses have donated to the annual cause; however, Jackson said she still needs donations for Saturday’s event. To donate to the Back-to-School Bash, call Jackson at (985) 634-3428.
