The Starlettes dance team from St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School recently competed against nearly 100 small varsity teams from across the country in the Universal Dance Association’s National Dance Team Championship in Orlando, Florida.

The Starlettes finished the weekend in eighth place in Small Varsity Jazz and 11th place in Small Varsity Hip Hop.

Coached by Olivia Marceaux, the 2015-16 Starlettes are freshmen Kylie Ruiz and Mackie Sandage; sophomores Londyn Daniel and Rachel Pistorius; junior Abi Collins; senior Madelyne Miley; and senior captains Emily Owens (three years), Cailin Sampey, Chloe Chauvin (four years) and Haileigh Bolton.

Other honors received by the Starlettes this year include state champions in Hip Hop and third place in Jazz at the Louisiana State Dance Championships.
