Ponchatoula’s Tucker Elementary School students know how to be cool and follow school rules, and students have been practicing the strategies since the first day of school, administrators said in a news release.

This week, one student from each class who followed the school rules correctly was chosen to be honored with a golden medal and named the golden gator, the release said. Each week, the students participate in a Character Counts lesson that corresponds with the school’s Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Program.
