Walker Pine Tree Festival kicks off Friday _lowres

The Walker Pine Tree Festival kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday in Sydney Hutchinson Park with a performance by On Moving Dance Company and a children’s costume contest.

Carnival rides open on the midway at 6 p.m. Friday and continue Saturday from noon to midnight and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Friday’s costume contest costs $5 to enter and will award prizes in several categories.

On Saturday, a car, truck and bike show is set from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Denver Rain Band performs at 2 p.m. The Soul Savage Project Band plays from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Burnhouse Band takes the stage from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

There will be a Sunday morning service with K-9 Ministry’s Johnny Morgan at 10 a.m. and a talent show at 1 p.m.

Lone Highway plays at 2:30 p.m.

Sydney Hutchinson Park is on Ball Park Road in Walker.
