The Edward Livingston Historical Association met July 30 at the Livingston branch of the Livingston Parish Library.
Guest speakers were Charlotte Reynolds, Robert Reynolds and Michael Verrett.
The Reynoldses talked about their interest in World War II and their recently published book, “It Was Some Experience … It Really Was,” about the World War II experiences of Pfc. Robert “Bob” Lyle, of Baton Rouge.
Verrett talked about his experiences with various phases of the war efforts related to his activities.
The meeting wrapped up with discussion and refreshments.
Future guest speakers include Dr. Rebecca Saunders on Sept. 17 and Kenny Kleinpeter on Oct. 15. Meetings are held at 6 p.m. at the Livingston library, and the public is welcome to attend.
