Options will host a high tea May 24 at the Ponchatoula Knights of Columbus Hall to raise money for men and women with disabilities.

“High tea is an experience,” Options CEO Sylvia Bush said. “It’s something you always remember because it is so special.

“It’s a chance for friends to get together, a time for mothers and daughters to share a lasting experience and an opportunity for grandmothers and granddaughters to make great memories” she said.

The English Tea Room in Covington will sponsor the event, Bush said.

English Tea Room co-owner Jan Lantrip will speak about the benefits of tea.

WWL-TV news anchor Sally-Ann Roberts will be the special guest. Roberts will sign copies of her new book, “Your Power is On.”

The menu will include scones, spinach quiche, cheese quiche, chocolate-covered strawberries, cucumber sandwiches and a variety of teas, Bush said.

Options will provide additional sandwiches and pastries. Candice Parent, a former member of the Options board of directors, will provide homemade cake balls.

Harpist Jessica Meltz will perform.

Tickets for the event are $30 each or $260 for a table of eight. To purchase tickets, contact cgardiner@options4u.org or call (985) 345-6269, ext. 140.
