Kassie Newell asked her second-graders at Amite Elementary Magnet School what the password was posted on her classroom door.

Each day, students are allowed to enter the classroom once they read and correctly say the word or phrase.

In the classroom, they write the password in booklets so they can practice reading them throughout the year. This is one of many strategies that help students improve their communication skills at AEMS, a Communication Magnet School, a news release from the school said.
