Walker Elementary School hosted Literacy Night with approximately 400 students and parents on Sept. 18. The theme for Literacy Night was “Reading Through the Decades.” Students dressed in period costumes based on their grade level and they participated in a book fair, book walk and literacy stations.

Literacy stations included table tennis with idioms, comparing ’80’s toys, vowel twister, the Scooby snack game, be-bopping bingo and books from the ’60s.

Each student received a free book at the end of the evening.
