Grad receives President’s Volunteer Service Award _lowres

Sadie Ann Daugereaux, a recent graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School in Hammond, recently received a President’s Volunteer Service Award.

She is the daughter of Dennis and Tangee Daugereaux, of Hammond.

The award was granted by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program on behalf of President Barack Obama, a news release said. Volunteer activities were judged on personal initiative, creativity, effort, impact and personal growth

While at STA, Sadie was involved with Key Club, National Honor Society, Beta Club, Dominican Youth Association, Light Team, Campus Ministry, STA Ambassadors, LHSAA Academic All-State Composite Team and tennis. She was the recipient of the Counseling Award, Ambassadors Award and Hammond Kiwanis Club Service Award. She graduated in the top 15 of the class of 2015, was named a “Silver Falcon” and was the recipient of the Spirit of Saint Thomas Aquinas Award.
