This column is normally filled with activities from around Livingston Parish. This week it is not. But that doesn't mean there isn't anything to do.
Make plans to attend a church service. Area churches have them at all times of the day on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Find a group still accepting donations for Christmas gifts and help people who are still hurting after 2016's floods. Or reach out to people in Houston who suffered similar losses in Hurricane Harvey.
Check on people in your neighborhood or at work who don't have family nearby or may not be able to do something special for the holidays.
Invite people to share Christmas Day in your home or offer to drop off a meal for someone who can't get out. Find a group that is helping feed people and join them for a few hours.
Get some rest. Play games with your family. Go for a walk, by yourself or with loved ones. Remember that things don't have to be perfect.
Most importantly, enjoy your holiday.
