Beta Lambda Chapter of Kappa Kappa Iota, a professional teacher’s organization, held its monthly meeting at the home of its president, Linda Pearce, the afternoon of Nov. 16.

In addition to refreshments, the women heard about beekeeping from Douglas Strickland. They also sampled honey from one of his hives and viewed beekeeping items he showed.

Strickland said his hives are expected to have honey this spring that will be for sale at his dentistry office in Denham Springs. The proceeds benefit the Methodist Children’s Home.

Attendees were greeted by hostesses Corinne Wilson, Pearce, and Paula Kelly. Pearce led the business session. The Christmas party will be at the home of Jeanette Bencaz.
