The Greater Hammond Chamber of Commerce recently announced the addition of Julie Perise as the member relations director.
“Julie understands our emphasis on building member and community relations as we continue to make the case for growth in the Greater Hammond area and in Tangipahoa Parish,” said Melissa Bordelon, Greater Hammond Chamber president and CEO.
Perise will be primarily responsible for member retention, recruitment and engagement efforts, a news release said. She will ensure Chamber programs and benefits are being utilized by members and engage members in committees, events and special projects. She will begin her new role for the 623-member organization May 2.
A 1990 graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, Perise holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing. She has served as assistant director with the Southeastern Alumni Association and coordinator of the Student Government Association at SLU.
Perise also served as an adviser for her sorority, Phi Mu Fraternity, and received SLU’s Faculty Adviser of the Year award in 2015 because of her efforts with that organization. She also is an active member of Oak Tree Church in Hammond.
“Her nearly 11-year career in alumni relations, coupled with her skill and expertise, will undoubtedly complement our team,” Bordelon said. “I’m proud to have Julie as a partner on our Chamber staff and have no doubt she will help us continue to grow business in this area.”
She and her husband, Randy, live in Ponchatoula and have three children: Brittany Gabriel, Blair and Brady.
