Two students at the Livingston Parish Literacy and Technology Center in Walker recently earned certifications from the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence.

Cody Miller, an Automotive Service Technician II student, earned five ASE certifications: suspension and steering; electrical/electronic systems; engine repair; brakes; and maintenance and light repair. This was the first time an LPLTC student earned five ASE certifications.

Tim Andrews, an Automotive Service Technician I student, earned four ASE certifications: engine performance; engine repair; automatic transmission and transaxle; and maintenance and light repair.

According to the ASE website, only two out of every three test-takers pass the tests their first attempt.

Miller is a senior at Albany High School and an AST intern at Team Toyota. Andrews is a junior at Live Oak High School.
