Happy New Year!

As part of your resolutions, consider putting "contact the Livingston section of The Advocate" on your list.

We would love to hear about activities from schools, nonprofit groups, churches, clubs and neighborhoods in the parish.

Remember to answer the question in any write-up: who, what, when, where, why and how. Include a way for us to contact you if we have questions.

Photos need to be high-resolution jpg files. We can use cellphone photos if they are sent at "actual" or "full" size. We need to know first and last names of people in the photos, as well as what is happening in the photos.

Send all the items to livingston@theadvocate.com within two weeks of the event.

If you would like to promote an event, send the information to us a couple of weeks ahead of the event.

All items are used on a space-available basis.

Chamber gatherings

Chamber Cheers is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 4 at the Chamber of Commerce office. It is a chance for fellow members to get to know each other. Also, a photographer will be offering a chance for head shots at a special rate.

The Chamber's Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet is 11:30 a.m. Jan. 17 at Forrest Grove Plantation, 8743 Stephenson Drive, Denham Springs. People interested in decorating a table and other sponsors are sought. Reservations for the event must be made by Jan. 15.

Visit livingstonparishchamber.org to register or for information on either event.
