Parents must bring a certified birth certificate, Social Security card, complete immunization records and four proofs of residence to register their child. Proof of residency can include rental or lease agreement, deed or title to residential property, mortgage or utility bills.
Learn about Girl Scouts
Learn more about the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, at an informational meeting at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 8, at Life Church, 9036 Florida Blvd., Walker.
The meeting will provide girls in kindergarten through 12th-grade and their families the opportunity to ask questions and register in Girl Scouts. Adults interested in volunteering are also encouraged to register. The annual membership fee is $25 for girls and adults.

Dance squad clinic
Denham Springs High School will host a pre-tryout clinic for any female student enrolled in eighth through 11th grade wanting to try out for Jackettes for the 2018-19 school year. The clinic will be Saturday, March 10 in the Denham Springs Freshman High gym. Packets are available from the front office. Tryouts will be March 24-25.

Boating safety: The Louisiana Boating Education Course is set for March 17 at Bass Pro Shop, 175 Bass Pro Blvd., Denham Springs. Anyone born after Jan. 1, 1984, must complete a boating education course and carry proof of completion to operate a motorboat in excess of 10 horsepower. Classes are planned for later in the year also.
Safe senior driving: An AARP 55 Alive Defensive Driving class for seniors will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. March 21 at the Livingston Council on Aging, 949 Government Drive, Denham Springs. Call (225) 664-0664 or (225) 664-9343.
Hunter education: A Louisiana Hunter Education Field Day, the in-person part of the state's hunting class that is required for all hunters born on or after Sept. 1, 1969, is set for March 24 at Doyle High School, 20480 Circle Drive, Livingston. Car show: The Livingston Parish Literacy and Technology Center is holding its fourth annual Car Show as a fundraiser for the automotive class from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 24 at 9261 Florida Blvd., Walker. 5K Superhero Run: Hosted by Rotary Club of Livingston Parish, this April 7 event helps fill the Livingston Parish School Board Shoe Vault. Entry fee is a pair of shoes plus $1 or $40.
