The Northshore Doll Club held its first meeting of 2018 at the Hammond home of member Nancy Johnston.

Johnston’s home was still decorated for Christmas to showcase her doll collection, which features miniature box dolls.

Main items in the business meeting included:

  • Evelyn Sanders, public relations chairwoman, reported on the group's Christmas Luncheon held at White Oak Plantation
  • Discussing the updated bylaws of the group’s parent organization, the United Federation of Doll Clubs.
  • An upcoming luncheon, "A Touch of Louisiana," will be held Feb. 24 in Covington. Attendees heard about preparations, including door prizes and the planned goody filled pirogue centerpieces.
  • Guest Nora Steele also joined the club.

After lunch, Cynthia Orgeron presented the program, "French Portraits in Time," an educational program on French Bebe's and their period clothing.
