HAMMOND — Psychiatrist Dr. Vic Linden has joined New Leaf Psychiatry & Counseling Center effective Aug. 20 and is accepting new patients.
Linden specializes in adult psychiatry, which involves the diagnosis and treatment of individuals age 18 years and older with chemical imbalances in the brain, including stress, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other psychiatric and mental health issues, a news release said.
Linden describes his treatment philosophy as “helping patients move forward.”
He graduated with honors from University of California, Irvine, with a degree in biological sciences and earned a medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. He completed both an internship and residency in psychiatry through LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.
Linden joins family psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioners Elisa Himel and Kevin Mixon in practice at New Leaf Psychiatry & Counseling Center.
