The Baton Rouge Team Hope Walk will be held at 10 a.m. April 29 at Highland Road Park. There will be a long walk and a short walk, both less than a mile, on sidewalks around the park.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the park pavilion. Cost is $25 for adults and $10 for children, though any amount will be accepted as a donation, said co-organizer Karen Paterson, who lost her husband and daughter to the disease.
The walk supports the Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s research and family support efforts. Huntington’s is a terminal genetic brain disease.
The first Team Hope Walk in Louisiana was held in 2007. One walk was held in Lafayette and the rest in Baton Rouge.
