Bike Baton Rouge is receiving support for its Light the Night program for Baton Rouge schools through New Belgium Brewing.

The company provided $750 in grant money for Light the Night’s mission to distribute free bike lights and bicycle safety information in Baton Rouge schools. The program also helps program advocates at schools to start Bike Clubs and organize and lead Bike Safety Days.

Light the Night has distributed 250 lights to students at participating schools since its inception.

“Promoting safe cycling in Baton Rouge, especially among children, is one of our top priorities. This program works with other efforts in the city to promote safe routes to public places,” said Sarah Schramm, of Bike Baton Rouge.
