Sacred Heart of Jesus School recently learned 15 of its students qualify for participation in the Duke University Talent Identification Program, or Duke TIP.

Qualifying students scored at or above the 95th percentile on one or more ACT Aspire subtests in math, science, reading or English.

Qualifying students are seventh-graders Bennett Barber, Gabriella Journée, Alyssa Keowen, Peter Mascari, Jack McKay, Carter Schmitt, Leslie Stevens and Charles Tramonte; sixth-graders Caroline Campbell and Tavio Cinquemano; fifth-graders Matthew Nguyen, Mackenzie O’Brien and Caroline Thibodeaux; and fourth-graders Caden Bland, Chloe Christophe and Reginald Ellis.

The seventh-grade students have been invited to take the ACT or the SAT college entrance exam, which allows them greater insight into their academic abilities, a news release said.
