Flickinger earns Eagle Scout rank _lowres

Photo provided by Tracy Flickinger -- Benjamin Paul Flickinger, of Troop 50 of the Istrouma Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, has attained the rank of Eagle Scout.

Benjamin Paul Flickinger became an Eagle Scout on May 3 during a Court of Honor ceremony at University Methodist Church.

He is the son of David and Tracy Flickinger.

Flickinger, 17, is a member of Troop 50 of the Istrouma Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, led by Scoutmaster Robert Reed. Since joining the Scouts in October 2011, he has earned 27 merit badges, the Order of the Arrow, National Youth Leadership Training and has held the position of quartermaster for two years.

Flickinger is a member of South Baton Rouge Presbyterian Church and is active in the wrestling team at Baton Rouge Magnet High School, where he will be a senior this fall. He plans to attend college and enter military service.
