The Red Stick turns 200 on Tuesday, and residents and businesses can join in the celebration with Wear Red Day to show their city pride.
People are invited to wear red and join representatives from downtown attractions such as the Manship Theatre, Louisiana Art and Science Museum, Hollywood Casino, the East Baton Rouge Parish Library and more for the Bicentennial CeleBRation. The free event begins at 11 a.m. in Town Square and is presented by the Downtown Business Association. The Nick Abraham Band will perform until 1 p.m.
Free double-sided chloroplast signs commemorating Baton Rouge 200, courtesy of Visit Baton Rouge, are free to all area businesses and organizations interested in participating in or co-branding with the celebration.
