More than 60 business leaders and legislators participated in Louisiana’s inaugural Early Education Week.

Early Education Week is an opportunity to highlight the need for increased access to high-quality early care and education for children from birth to age 4 and families around the state, a news release said. Business leaders in each parish learned how early care and education helps create a skilled, productive workforce.

Participants toured three early learning centers, Educate New Orleans, Fundamentals Early Learning Center in Baton Rouge and Beary Cherry Tree in Metairie. Events were hosted by the Louisiana Early Childhood Business Roundtable, Jefferson Business Council, Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, Baton Rouge Area Chamber and Pres Kabacoff.
